Testimonials
As both a parent/guardian of a participant, and as a board member, it's very exciting to see the energy that HOPE is exuding! The organization and their provider’s commitment to participants is refreshing and reassuring. The growth and confidence I have witnessed in my son is overwhelming and words don't really do it justice! HOPE provides both supported community living and supported employment (job coaching) for my son. He has a paid job and a volunteer job and he just loves them.
At the HOPE Holiday party he spoke in front of about 100 people and told everyone what HOPE means to him and "I'm a busy guy." I wouldn't have dreamed of him speaking in front of a room full of people a couple of years ago! He also now makes a fantastic Chef Boyardee pizza and helps with laundry! Thanks HOPE!

I like going to the games and talk to people. … I just call them and see if I need them to come over or something. They're really good at letting people live independent. … I am satisfied because, without them, I would not be where I am today. … I am able to deal with certain things that don't go so well better than I used to. I do a lot more things around the house and I help out with cooking more often. [I am better at] asking some friends to spend time with me. … I think there is not anything I would change. -Participant Before, just as an example, if I hadn't been with Hope, I would be living with my parents. They've helped me not only move out of my parents’ home but thrive on my own and that's always something I will be thankful for. -Participant |
They're nice to me. They don't yell and talk correctly. … It's very nice and they help me with things I need help with… [like] cooking, exercising, and shopping. … I control my life by learning to cook on my own and care for myself on my own. … If someone has a question, or something happens, I can deal with it better. … I do better at school and work. [I] work hard at both places and do the best I can. -Participant [They help me to] get out in the community, go grocery shopping, and just helping me get stuff [that] I need. … The people that work with me, [I like them because] they're outgoing, funny... I'm focusing more. I'm not getting distracted. … I'm out of school and I am working. I'm working a lot. … I'm not living at home right now. I'm living on my own. -Participant |
